Sticking up an LED strip takes ten minutes, but a few small habits make the difference between a clean glow and a flickering mess. Here's how to do it right the first time.
1. Clean the surface first
Wipe down the wall, ceiling trim, or furniture edge with a dry or slightly damp cloth before sticking anything. Dust and oils are the number one reason adhesive strips fall off within a week.
2. Measure before you cut
Most strips, including our RGB LED Strip Lights, have marked cut points every few centimeters. Measure your run first, plan your corners, and only cut at the marked lines so each segment still works.
3. Use corner clips for tight turns
Bending a strip too sharply around a corner can crack the circuit. A small plastic corner connector keeps the bend gentle and the connection solid.
4. Mind your power source
Longer runs draw more power. If you're connecting multiple strips end to end, check the included power adapter can handle the total length, or split the run into two shorter circuits powered separately.
5. Hide the controller, not the light
Tuck the small control box behind a headboard, shelf, or TV stand so only the glow is visible. A little cable management goes a long way toward making the whole setup look intentional.
6. Test before you commit
Power on the strip and check the full run lights up evenly before pressing the adhesive down permanently. It's much easier to fix a dead segment now than after it's stuck to the wall.
